| Full-time undergraduate in journalism/minor in marketing and management |
I worked for UH one summer while attending classes. I got the job through the
school's recruitment office. I wrote course manuals for the school of journalism
and one of the professors also recommended me to do research for a book a
colleague of his was working on. There are a lot of opportunities--Hawaii is
pretty self-contained, which means a lot of companies could use the internship
help, providing great experience for the students. Admittedly, the pay for those
positions was small to none--but that seems typical of many college internships.
I left the islands soon after graduating so I did not use their placement
services.
