I lived in dorms my 1st 3 years, and it was a great experience. I got
involved with the Interresidence Hall Association which set up social
programs and such for residents to come out to and enjoy. I utilized
the meal plan my freshman yesr. Overall, I found it to be okay. Let's
put it this way... at least I wasn't eating pizza every day! I also
felt very safe. Emergency phones are placed throughout campus with a
blue light on top. Supposed;y, wherever you are on campus, you should
be able to make a 360 degree turn and see at least on of these phones.
SG also provided a service called SNAP - student nighttime auxillary
(sp?) patrol. If you need a ride across campus, they will provide on
for you, jsut call them up and tell them where you are and where you
need to go. In the past few years, buses have lengthened their
schedules to as late as 2am, so they are starting to phase out SNAP.
