Quality of Life Survey |
| Full Time Undergrad |
CU is the #1 party school... There is always something to do on any
given day of the week. Boulder offers a large number of bars and
restaurants to keep you busy. Many students head up to the mountains
for skiing during the winter - on every day of the week. Other outdoor
activities like kayaking, hiking, and rock climbing are very popular
among students. The town of Boulder is definitely unique. It has the
highest concentration of practicing Bhuddists in the U.S. Yoga classes
abound, and there are too many health food stores to even list. Boulder
attracts a wealthy crowd seeking high quality of life. Safety is not an
issue. In fact, there is so little for poice to do that they tend to
harrass under-age college students more than anything else... Housing
is fairly expensive in Boulder, especially in the popular
student "ghetto" called The Hill. An average two bedroom unit costs
around $1200 per month to rent. The only major problem in Boulder is
the TRAFFIC. Particularly during the school year. It is horrendous for
a town of its size. Construction seems to last way longer than it
should. On top of that, Boulder seems to attract very poor drivers, as
is evident come the first big snow of the year.
