The Business School has its own career center, and students are also able to use
the university's Career Services. They have an online job posting system, which
they changed three times while I was there, creating confusion, and one of the
counselors told me that the newest one makes it practically impossible to refer
resumes to companies. They used to do that frequently in the Business Career
Center, which is how I got a great internship my senior year. There are numerous
job fairs held during the year, but I have not talked to anyone who actually got
a position out of one of them. Most of the employers who come seem to be looking
for something very specific if they are hiring (usually engineering jobs), or
else they are just there to publicize their company but have no openings. Plus,
there are so many students there, it seemed to me like it was a waste of time to
go usually, because I would talk to a bunch of people, hand out a ton of resumes,
and I think I got one interview from four years of job fairs.
