My admissions process was fairly easy, as I am an in-stater. I was told
by my high-school counselor that CU uses an admissions index to auto
admit people with high enough grades and SAT scores. Fortunately, I
fell into the auto admit category and that was that... CU has been
attempting to increase diversity on campus. The vast majority (85%?) of
students are caucasian. I think admission committees are looking for
essays with compelling diversity statements, whether they deal with
race, socio-economic status, religion, sexual preference, whatever...
