The area immediately around the university is relatively safe and nice;
however, several blocks from the university in the Eastside Riverside
area is a generally crime-ridden area where drugs, prostitution, and
gangs are rampant.
The campus is generally self-sufficient with on campus housing, plenty
of apartments nearby, a sports complex, state of the art gym, several
libraries (brand new science library), computer centers, career center,
on campus cafeteria, and bar.
