The University of Calfornia, Riverside used to have an open admissions
policy where any student meeting
minimum admission requirements for the University of California system
would be admitted;
however, it is my understanding that this is no longer the case. As the
prestige of the university has increased the selectivity has increased
as well. While it is still one of the least selective universities in
the UC system, it is more selective than average institutions. The
general personal statement is required, in addition to the application.
No interview is required. High school students must complete the
required 4 years of English, 2 years of a foreign language, 3 years of
science and 3 years of math to even be considered for admission.
