There is basically no student support on campus. You are on your own for EVERYTHING. If you want an internship there is a web site you can search for an internship and student advisors who know less than you to help you find one. you are much better off arranging your own internship and then applying for credit. I have never seen anyone come to campus to recruite for jobs. Prestige depends on the major basically engineering, bio, chem, animal science, viticulture anything science is really prestiges. History I think is the best liberal arts department in terms of course selection, quality of instruction, and the GPA you'll end up with but I don't know how respected it is.
