It gets better but if NOTHING like a civilian college. If you play a varsity/club sport you will have more freedom/time off on the weekend. There is no crime, you are safe there, the campus is beautiful and Annapolis is amazing. You are only about 4 hours from New York City and about an hour from Washington DC. It's a great area. I would go back in a second if I could.
