I can??t say much for career services except that they try, and the rest is
really up to you. They will cater to you, offering private help, and group
classes, but again it is easy to put this as a low priority on you??re to-do list
during the first semester of senior year, which is actually the most active time
for the office. Job fairs also arrive fairly early on, as does the entire
recruitment process. If you hang out by the center you can see all the students
who really are on top of things dressed up in suits, ready for interviews- though
they??d never let you know it.
As a Tufts graduate your career prospects are good, especially from the
engineering school. Econ majors can do really well for themselves with financial
companies and consulting firms, especially in the New York, Boston, DC areas.
It??s really up to you to make the effort, however. You can succeed if you put a
lot of effort into the process yourself, as opposed to the Ivy??s, where I imagine
the biggest companies prefer to find their new hires.
