A year prior to graduation, I was lucky to have a part-time work-study job in
the Computing Services Department as a programmer assistant under the leadership
of my Compter Science professor, Mr. Edwards. I remember talking to the
department that handle campus recruiting. I was informed that employers like
AT&T, IBM, Nasa, etc will be coming to campus to recruit. I was exited and I went
and prepared my resume and got dressed for the inteview. I interviewed with
several companies that came on campus, at least six, and after graduation, I only
received one response back telling me of their regrets. With so many trys and no
lucks, I ended up working in customer service jobs that has nothing to do with my
computer science degree and I was devastated, asking myself what did I go to
college for?
