I think Stanford still has a certain cach?? for employers, particularly if you
are a "techie" (Stanford jargon for a student of scientific subjects), although
with such famous alumni and professors like Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and
Condoleeza Rice, "fuzzies" have done just fine as well with finding a job. The
career placement office had a good listing of job and internship opportunities,
but more often, for the California market than on the East Coast and little
outside of the US.
