Many employers want Stanford students, so if you do reasonably well, you'll have
good choices among job opportunities. Still, the traditional recruiters -- law
school, medical school, banking, consulting, and accounting -- probably take
nearly half the class. A good chunk others go to Silicon Valley engineering/oil &
gas/pharma companies and start-ups. So if you're looking for writing or more
creative pursuits, Stanford may not be the right place. That said, Stanford
students are some of the most resourceful in the country, so I'm always not too
surprised to see Stanford people in virtually every industry and position out
there.
