The process was the most comprehensive of all the schools I applied
to. I recall writing one longer essay and four mini-essays. Even
though the mini-essays are shorter in length, it doesn't mean that they
are any less important. My year, I believe that the acceptance rate was
about 14%. My SAT 1 scores were very good for my public high school
but probably below average compared to Stanford students. However, I
scored extremely well on my SAT 11 Subject tests and that helped me I
think. In addition to the general application documents, I also created
an audio tape where I sang three songs. I have a strong background in
music and thought it might help to differentiate me. I'm not sure if
they heard it, but I did get in!
