| Full-time undergraduate program |
Most kids here are pretty well-off. Everyone lives on campus the first
year for the most part, and then lots and lots of kids move into ritzy
off-campus apartments or rent houses in the surrounding Highland Park
area. Dorm living can be great or awful. The trick is deciding whether
you need cable tv or a bigger room. The dorms are kept very clean
though, and suite-style bathrooms are cleamed weekly by a janatorial
service. The campus is also well kept: no sidewalk chalk advertisements
or litter: just oaks and grass and brick. The food here though, sucks.
Umphrey Lee spends lots of money renovating every semester, but the food
still sucks. The salad bar is lettuce, tomato, cucumber, olives,
broccali, colliflower, cheese, onions and jalapenos EVERY DAY! I can't
eat the same salad every freakin' day! Also, it's so not Atkinds
friendly. It's like, "you can have a sandwich, some pasta, a hamburger
bun, a waffle, or a baked potatoe" Um, can someone say Freshman Fifteen?
Crimes real low and the SMU PD are always crusing around... you can call
them anytime to come take you home. They love to do it. They say
they're usually p[retty bored. Sometimes people will call them just
because it's cold or they don't want to walk across campus to their
dorms.
