| Full-time undergraduate program (BA) |
I transfered from a community college and the process was pretty
difficult. I am also a foreign students and had problems. I thought
it would be pretty easy since both schools are in the Bay Area but
there were still problems. I was not told that my tanscripts had not
be received but got my schedule for the fall and saw that nothing had
been credited. There was also problems with my student loan from
Sweden arriving on time. I had to deal with this every single
semester. Never got the same person.
Getting accepted was never a problem and the application was not that
hard since I was just transfering.
In my last year my husband got accepted to a Ph.D program at Emory
University in Atlanta. I got great support from the dean and from the
business school to take classes at Georgia State and get credit for
them at SJSU. I was able to leave for one semester but had to be back
for my last semester. The support was great but the process was not
without problems. I was granted to take specific classes but when I
got back the registrars office did not give me to correct amount of
credits. They assumed that GSU was on a quarter system but they had
recently changed to a semester system but the administrator at SJSU did
not know this. You have to keep closed gard on everything the
administration does and they do not always give you the right
information. It was very frustrating and I know some people that
would have liked to go to SJSU but gave up since the bureacratic red
tape was just to hard to deal with.
