I lived on campus all four years of college because it was the most
popular thing to do. There were no problems until my senior year when
there was a housing crunch. My roommates and I were put on a wait list
and were informed by the end of the school year that we had been placed
on campus. First two years of campus dining were horrible. The food
had no flavor at all what so ever. My second two years I lived in a
townhouse that had a kitchen so I no longer ate in the dining hall.
The neighborhood surrounding SMC is suburban. It takes at least 7 miles
to get the the closets freeway (on curvy roads). Very safe, almost no
crime in the surrounding neighborhood.
On campus there were many unreported sexual assualts that went on and
during my senior year slowly many females started to report. There was
little to no support from administration.
