Admissions process was generally like any other school. Because of the
size of the school and many use Buffalo as a safety, a large percantage
of applicants get accepted but about 1/4 to 1/3 actually attend.
However, trends have recently changed (I believe in large part w/ the
national exposure that MTV gave us with their fraternity/sorority life
show) and Buffalo's last freshman class of 2003 was the biggest the
school has ever taken on (in fact many students had to stay in motels
nearby b/c the school couldn't accomodate them!) pretty much a 3.0-3.5
accompanied with a 1100-1200 SAT score should get you in. (Of course,
listing volunteer work, jobs or extracirricular activities won't hurt)
I was admitted in September 1999, with a class size of about 3,000. I
had a "B" average and a 1200 (650M/550V split).
