At the time, Greek houses were banned, but there were a few clubs on
campus (I was part of the 50th and final year of the E.E. Potter Club).
Good bars, particularly downtown, with freshmen at O'Heaney's, sophs
thru seniors at WT's and the Long Branch, and the jap crowd at the Lamp
Post. For adventurous types, 288 Lark and Frank's Living Room provided
better atmosphere and music, and were quite "un-Albany like". Those
were in the days of the drinking age being 18, so you could get served
with a cafeteria card (which had no age on it). Sure things have
changed a bit since.
Not a lot of student activity. At the time, we were listed in Birnbach
book as "most apathetic", so the student body had a "Guinness Book of
Records Day" where they set record for most people playing musical
chairs. I guess we went from "apathetic" to just "pathetic".
That said, lots of good memories and good times.
