| Full-time undergraduate program |
SUNY Buffalo has an interesting living dynamic. North Campus (where
most undergrad classes are) is in the middle of nowhere and is pretty
dead on the weekends, while South Campus is near the city and has a
great nightlife. Usually freshman & sophomores live in the dorms on
North Campus, and upperclassmen live in apartments close to South Campus
(read -- the bars).
Dorms are pretty crappy, although there are hundreds, if not thousands,
of on-campus apartments built in the past 5 years which are very nice.
But you'll be stuck in the dorms freshman year. Dorm food generally
stinks, but if you get the right meal plan, you can use it for Burger
King, the sub shop, etc. in the Commons.
North Campus has great athletic facilities, and extensive libraries.
Dorms are wired with ethernet. UB's technology in general is very
impressive, which is surprising for a state school. North Campus = very
safe, South Campus = don't even think about walking alone at night if
you're a girl.
