Quality of Life Survey |
| Full-time undergraduate |
Quality of life for a college is not that bad if you don't live in New
Brunswick which is a very poor ghetto town where college students are
looked down upon. I used to call it Rutgers Spanish Harlem. You can be
sure you will be robbed, your landlord will not care if your toilet or
shower doesn't work, and you will sit far from your classmates afraid
that you smell. But the outskirts, Highland Park, Somerset are not that
bad and are where the more middle class kids live, and families are more
nuclear. You have to convince yourself that safety of your person,
property, peace of mind does not mean you're precious or spoiled and you
have a right to live in a safe community. New Brunswick has a really
high rate of insanity, due to crime, drugs, prostitution, welfare and
there's the attitude "what makes you think you're better than that? What
makes you think you're above it?". You get the picture.
