See above! Social life rocks - we have two on campus bars - undergrad
and grad which get a ton of activity. Every Thursday is pub-nite where
all the undergrads go to 'Willie's Pub' a college institution. You are
in the middle of Rice Village with a ton of restaurants - both
reasonably priced and nicer and a ton of variety in cuisines!
Dating scene I found to be great. But I was a girl. Rice guys are
definitely not the smoothest, but they are great. If you are into
the 'dorky in a cute' way, Rice is the place for you. Dating is also
cheap b/c there are so many free activities in and around Rice and
Houston.
It is very easy to get involved in clubs at Rice because of its small
size.
Those who are wanting a frat life type of college life dont' seem to be
super happy at Rice. There is a rugby club for those interested in
that type of social scene - so there is definitely that outlet.
There really is something for everyone at Rice. There is a drinking
scene if that's what you want and there is a non-drinking scene if
that's where you're more inclined. And drinkers hang out with non-
drinkers. The best thing about Rice is the appreciation of what
everyone brings to the table.
