RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) is a very selective school. I
believe the acceptance rate is about 30%. You must have an art
background, as a portfolio of 15-20 slides is required, as well as 3
original graphite drawings. One of the drawings has to be representing
a bicycle, one of an interior or exterior space, and one free-choice.
There are only informational interviews, which don't aid you in the
selection process. It helps to have letters of recommendation, but
they are not required. SAT scores, transcripts, and an essay are also
required.
