There are Penn State alum EVERYWHERE, and from a networking stand point, this is
a huge advantage over everywhere else (PSU has the largest living alumni network
in the U.S.). In terms of career services, a brand new building houses a
talented
staff of career advisors to help you get a job. Specifically in Smeal, there is
a
corporate relations office that brings A LOT of companies to our doorstep here.
There are always companies on campus during the recruting season. The quality of
employers are very high, ex- PricewaterhouseCoopers hired the most Penn Staters
last year. There is an online system for sophomores and juniors to post resumes
for jobs posted by employers for internships and co-ops. Especially for the
Schreyer Honors College, the top employers do recruit on campus. This includes
Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, and mostly all the major banking firms.
So just because PSU is not ivy or close to Wall Street, the Honors College has a
great relationship with the prestigious companies. The Honors College is one of
the TOP honors programs in the country and allows students to comete directly
with ivy students.
