Otis College holds an Open House, in which prospective students can attend
sessions specifically designated to the department in which
(s)he is interested. Currently, Otis offers degrees in nine separate
departments. The website is http://www.otis.edu and is detailed in all
nine disciplines of art and design that are currently offered, including
additional details as to housing, admissions, etc.
For interested graduating High School Seniors, there is a special Orientation
Day, Called Freshmen Forward, in which Seniors can visit
the school, take special tours and experience a taste of what college life would
be like if they chose Otis. I know from experience that the
chair of my department, Digital Media, goes all out on these occasions to extend
the welcome mat and make these prospective new
students as welcome as possible and to instill in them the excitement of the
freedom and exhileration they can experience as college
students of Otis College of Art and Design.
The admissions process consists of a portfolio review, a series of interviews
and a review of school transcripts.
