I don't even know if I should comment on this. I may be biased, but I
have seen many other schools (OSU, Indiana, Miami, Cincinnati, Harvard,
U of Denver...) and no other school seems to compare.
I was in a fratenity from my first quarter there. The percentage of
Greeks on campus is not that high, but the system is an outlet to have
A LOT of fun. It is not true that only Greeks associate with Greeks,
i.e. faternity men only date sorority women, all your friends are in
your fraternity, etc.
The bar scene is the best around. You will learne that (even before
you turn 21 probably).
Moms and Dads weekends and Sibs weekends can be a lot of fun, even if
you've never partied with your parents before.
We always stunk in sports, but the students sure got riled up.
There are lots of "Fests." High Fest and Palmer Fest are organized on
those respective streets, and are essentially huge block parties with
bands.
And Halloween is famous (or infamous) throughout Ohio and beyond. I
know many people who chose to go to OU just because they had so much
fun at an OU Halloween.
Social life at OU is never lacking. And everyone is very open and laid
back. Cultures mix well and you have the freedom to choose whatever
you want to do.
