The student body in my opinion has a general friendliness to it. At a
small school it is easy to meet people and at Occidental there exists a
unique community of supportive individuals. Pasadena and Glendale are
easily accessible by car, but without a car, students often feel
frustrated/stranded. There is so much to take advantage of that is
driving distance of the campus and it is hard without transportation.
The on campus life is important though parties, especially in the off
campus housing have been brought to a minimum because of neighborhood
complaints. The immediate community of Eagle Rock feels safe to most of
us because we know it well, but it is not known to be the safest place.
The gym is poor, but most other facilities are good.
