University Career Services gets more helpful as you get older. Before you're a
junior, there's not much they can do to help you besides go over general
internship search strategies and administer a personality test if you're trying
to decide between careers. But for juniors and seniors, on-campus recruiting is
pretty substantial, and applying for jobs with on-campus interviews is a cinch in
most cases. Employers are definitely interested in Northwestern students. There
are full-time career fairs in Fall Quarter for graduating seniors and two career
fairs that cater to juniors looking for internships in January. Of these, one is
primarily for non-profit organizations and governmental bodies seeking summer
assistance, and the other is for finance and consulting firms, insurance and
actuarial positions, and other jobs in for-profit businesses.
