The social life is Boston. It is very clicky and people get sucked into
groups really quick from the beginning. Most people are busy and don't
have time, once they make their friends they have little time to make
many more. The school does not have a sense of unity. I think this is
because nobody watches NU football or Basketball and we feel like we
live in Boston, not that we live at Northeastern. Almost no frats or
sororities but there are a few. The night life is a lot of fun, whether
you just want a college bar, trendy clubs, latin bars, hole in the
walls you can find it. There are a few "Northeastern Bars" such as Our
house east and Connor larkins where you run into the same people almost
every weekend. IF you come to Northeastern you will most likely live
here in the summer after your freshman year. It is really great in the
summer, classes are laid back and you can travel up to Maine or down to
the Cape in no time with friends. Everyone looks forward to New England
Summers here. It is what gets you through the harsh winters. The dating
scene is again like living in a city. There are couples, but also
plenty of single people. I think there is so much to do at night that
many people do not like to get settled down here. Another note is when
you are under 21 in Boston it can be depressing. The city is hard on
keeping underage people out of bars and clubs. Once you turn 21,
literally thousands of doors open. Also, Northeastern can be
overwhelming at the begin. There is such a mixture of cultures and
students it might seem hard to fit in at first. But once you do, you
will be glad you stayed with all the opportunities Northeastern offers.
Best of wishes
