If you do not come from Long Island or one of the five boroughs, you are
considered an outcast. About 75% of the students are from LI or NYC and
they only communicate with each other. They do not care about out-of-
state students. There is only one bar that is still open around
campus. The rest have been shut down because they let in too many
underage people. The one bar still open will eventually get shut down.
The NYPD raids it once, sometimes twice per week and have threatened to
shut it down each time. In other words, in order to find a good bar you
can either go to LI or Manhattan. There are many fine restaurants
around campus. Most are Italian. A majority of students at this school
are very unattractive. Don't plan on trying to meet the love of your
life. Also, most people don't have personalities. There are no popular
events at all. Home men's basketball games do not even attract a
crowd. The Greek life at this school is horrible. No frats or
sororities have houses. Their "house" is the University Common Center.
That is a small building which, among other things, has a large room
with many tables. Each frat and sorority has two tables. That is as
close to a "frat house" they get. It's quite a disappointment.
