Social life is really great. If you make friends early on, you will never be
lonely since you have all of New York City at your doorstep. NYU sponsored
events, like fairs, are fun because they were one of the few times where the
school gave you entertainment and food for free. While its hard to be bored at
NYU because you're in New York City, alienation and loneliness still happen to
the best of us. In a big university and in an even bigger city, people can become
distant. NYU has many clubs, of all sizes and tastes, but their accessibility is
often a problem. Its hard to really be in the know of all the different types of
activities going on a daily basis. At the beginning of the year there is a huge
club fair, but apart from being one giant melting pot of information thrown at
you its also quite confusing, so in the end you dont end up actually
participating in anything. For those that do find something they are passionate
about, they quickly realize that NYU offers little support and advice.
