I didn't dorm, however the more you spend the nicer your place. Its best
to dorm your first year, greatest way to make friends and meet people,
very expensive. Dining food bland and boring in a New York way, i.e.,
interesting the first couple of months then boring as all hell. Gym,
smelly and has little new equipment, but one of the residence halls has
its own gym, very nice and new. No campus, per se, rather spread out
buildings. Really feel like part of New York downtown crowd. Very
different, but different becomes same after twenty people try to be
different in the same way. Neighborhood is mixture of ethnic (every
ethnicity) and upscale (with yuppie in the mix). Crime isn't that bad if
you're smart about where you go and how. Protection services will pick
you up if you're stuck in an unsavory neighborhood.
