The admissions process was similar to that of other schools I applied to
in that it required several essays in addition to the standard
application. I am not sure whether students had interviews or not, but I
didn't. The best way to get into NYU is to be absolutely phenomenal in
one area, even if you have no idea about what you are doing in any other
field. For example, if you have outstanding sports achievements, have
been published, acted in major productions, etc., this will help you to
get accepted much more than if you simply have good grades and
participated in regular extracurriculars in high school.
