I am an international student who applied straigt to Stern School Of
Business. I could not get 1300 on SAT, so I was allocated for general
studies program with conditional offer of GPA 3.0 to transfer to Stern.
I got a mere 1180 on SAT, and I had GPA 3.65 at the end of 1.5 years.So
I guess i was a bit lucky. I had Advanced Levels with good results
which allowed me to cut the BS degree to 3.5 years, and that was
probably what got me in. I heard it got harder to get in to Stern, with
average being 1370 or around that. I still would like to encourage
people to apply, since I turned out to have A.A. in Liberal arts with
Freshman year in Florence, Italy, and BSc in Finance and International
Business all in 3.5 years. Its fine if you don't get in to Stern
straight away, its the last two years that matter. At least try your
chances, don't get scared off by selective process.
