If you are looking for excitement or a big collge atmosphere, this is
not your school. This is a small college with an enrollment of just
under 2,000 students. Allentown is not exactly a cosmopolitan center,
but the Lehigh Valley area isn't bad. You are about 2 hours west of New
York City and 1 1/2 hours north of Philadelphia. Campus life is very
quiet around mid-terms and during the final exam period. There is a
system of fraternities and sororities. They have evolved over time from
the center of party life to service organizations. There are clubs
covering almost every interest group you can think of. The student body
is probably not as diverse as it should be but it is not completely
homogeneous either. There are a number of decent restaurants within a
short drive from campus. It is a very nice place to go to school, you
can enjoy yourself to a certain extent, but this is not a party school
by any stretch of the imagination. There is a very friendly, welcoming
atmosphere on campus. Attending Muhlenberg is a very rewarding
experience.
