There is a very high quality of life in this campus community as well as
off campus. The dorms are beautiful and modern along with the facilities
and dining. Fast internet access and welcoming campus police are the
added advantages. Montclair State is located on a hilltop campus
overlooking Northeast Jersey and the Manhattan skyline. (Montclair is 15-
20 minutes west of NYC.) The surrounding neighborhood is virtually a no-
crime residential area with many half-million-to-a-million-dollar homes
surrounding the campus in Upper Montclair, Clifton, and Little Falls. As
with many NYC area towns and cities, traffic and parking can be a
problem in the morning around 8am and in the afternoon around 2pm.
Montclair State even has a train that goes straight from the north end
of campus to Penn Station in midtown Manhattan.
