The school differentiates between dependent and independent students.
They provide a limited amount of on campus housing but also provide a
rental referral service. On average, the freshman student age is higher
than at a typical 4 yr school, this means that most student go part time
and work or have families to cope with. With some exceptions, most of the
classrooms are "automated" having full A-V and computer access making
lectures easier on the professors. The library is excellent and has full
link to the inter-campus loan program along with link to state lending
libraries. Additionally numerous computer labs allow student without home
computer access the ability for computer access to complete assignments
pretty much 24/7. The Denver light rail system and RTD( bus) have routine
stops at the campus and part of the fees is for unlimited RTD usage.
Parking is reasonably priced per day but outside the campus quad. The
campus is in what is referred to as Lo_Do or lower Denver close to Mile
High stadium (Invesco) football, Pepsi center (indoor sports) and
Elitches amusement park. It is also close to Coors field( baseball) and
downtown Denver making access to entertainment easy via bus or light
rail. Although the campus is in Lo-Do and near the 5 points area of
Denver, it??s my understanding that the crime level is lower than the
University of CO campus in Boulder. If I had one complaint in this
regard, it might be that the campus does draw panhandlers.
