Social life is focused many on fraternities (parties, semi-formals,
formals, social hours), but every dorm will also have a semi-formal as
well as their own study breaks.
Boston is a great town. Over 20 colleges and universities call the
Greater Boston area home which means tons of college students are in
the city during the school year. 3 out of the 4 major sports teams
play in Boston (Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox) so there is definitely a
lot going on there. Every April is the Boston Marathon which always
brings in a crowd and parties.
Food favorites include Quan's kitchen for cheap Chinese, Sicilia's for
stuffed pizza, Toscanini's for ice cream, and the food trucks for cheap
lunches. There's also the Pourhouse for 1/2 price burgers on Saturdays
from 6-8pm.
During the fall, there is the Head of the Charles Regatta(crew races)
as well as Greek Week on campus.
Clubs and bars are abundant in Boston. Landsdowne St is one of the
hubs for the club and bar scene. At the end of Landsdowne St. is
Fenway Park. Jillian's is a student favorite with pool tables, video
games, big screen TVs and a large bar. Another favorite is the Rack
located in the Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall area. The local pop radio
station is there every Friday night.
Great restaurants as well in Boston with the North End for Italian
food, Chinatown for cheap and late night, and Back Bay for more upscale
dining.
