The social life is very mixed. I think there is almost something for
everyone. Most students drink on the weekends and drink hard. I've
never seen so many girls drink shots. However in recent years the
student body has been much more health-conscience.
The usual establishments are bars near campus and certain favorites in
downtown Milwaukee. Night clubs are attended less frequently, because
the student body is very casual.
Dating happens, but not too much. There is more hanging-out type dating.
The Greek system exhists, but it is not the in-crowd.
The all-school dance in January, Winter-Flurry, is a drunken affair that
very fun, especially for undergraduates. When the basketball team is
playing well it overshadows everything. March madness will engulf the
school.
If you don't drink and like to get involved in campus activities outside
the bars, there are many opportunities: plays, movies, sporting events,
philanthropy, etc. Many students graduate in four years without ever
being a regular at the bars.
