Marquette is an urban campus, located in the inner-city of Milwaukee. If
you do not like city life, even a smaller city like Milwaukee, then
Marquette is not for you. The campus has a strong public safety program
and plenty of awareness events; still, incidents do happen. Its location
gives way to plenty of opportunity for volunteering and service
learning, which Marquette is big on.
The dorms are typical, and so is the food. The RA's are very involved
with their floormates, and there are social events on campus throughout
the year. Recently there has been a crackdown on drinking in the dorms.
I would say the quality of life is pretty good. Being Jesuit creates a
warm, community feel on campus, even for those who are not Catholic
(like myself).
