My goal when entering Loyola was to use it as a stepping stone to get into law
school. I achieved that goal. The fact that the university is private and jesuit
gives it some weight in academic circles outside the midwest. Within the
midwest, Loyola has a very good reputation both in academic and employment
circles. Furthermore my professors, on-campus employers and financial aid
advisor were all instrumental in helping me obtain admission to law school. They
helped by writing wonderful recommendations and some even helped by reviewing and
commenting on my applications before I mailed them out.
While on campus, I held many jobs and the placement office was very helpful to
those students who wanted to work or obtain internships. I needed to earn money
so I don't have direct knowledge of internship opportunities but I do know that
the opportunities were there.
As for post graduate opportunities, again, I don't have any direct knowledge as
that was not my path. However, I know the career placement office did arrange
for on campus recruiting. They also offered private sessions to students seeking
advice on how to apply their career to the real world.
