Admission is pretty straight forward and comparable to any private
LA college. What stands out about the admissions process is that
the school looks for students with social skills in addition to
academic and athletic acumen, and doesn't just pay lip service to
the notion of being well-rounded. Also, since the school has been
shedding the stigma of being an engineering school for decades, a
strong verbal SAT score adds a bit of luster to an application.
Finally, be aware that alumni are very influential in the admissions
process, so an interview with an alumnus(a) in addition to the
admissions office can help, if the alumnus is close to the Board of
Trustees (or preferably, on it).
