Let's put it this way ... I'd been out of college for several years and
living away from Kansas (my home state). I decided in early January
1996 to go back to college and finish my degree, so I applied to KSU,
and within about two weeks, I'd moved back home, found an apartment in
Manhattan and enrolled in the spring semester, which started in mid-
January.
In more specific terms, Kansas has always been a state where if you
were a resident, that was basically your admission ticket to any state
school. Within the last couple of years, they have put restrictions on
admissions, but they're still not up to the standards of other states'
admissions policies.
