I think that was the best part of my experience. I was able to work at a number of places during my time at Hopkins, and the real-world experience really bolstered my academic career. Hopkins has an excellent reputation in some circles, but is still not on par with the Ivies. However, I have never found that my college experience has held me back in my career. I worked for a large corporation for a few years and am now attending a top five law school. So I don't think the reputational difference really matters any more.
