The opportunities at Howard University for career placement and development are
limitless. Scholarships and Internships from corporations abound, the most
prestigious companies are there recruiting regularly, students are taught how to
dress, speak, present with confidence in any business setting. Students interact
with company reps at formal dinners, at presentations, at information sessions
and at seminars. There are university-wide career development offices and
school-based career development offices. Private companies, corporations,
government agencies, non-profits, and professional schools attend the career and
graduate school fairs in huge numbers recruiting for new hire positions, analyst
programs and internships. Workshops and speakers bureaus are regular at the
school, and give students exposure to recruiters, alumni, and other company reps.
There isn't enough focus on entrepreneurship, but if you are looking for a
corporate job, especially in investment banking, accounting, marketing,
pharmaceuticals or entertainment, Howard is absolutely the place to be.
