Social Life Survey
Full-time Undergraduate Program Pretty tight-knit at the houses (most everyone lives on-campus all 4 years), and most people's closest friends are their rooming groups. A lot of people's best friends are the people they met freshman year or were assigned to room with. Again, there are tons of interesting people at Harvard so odds are that the people next door are going to be people you want to be friends with. There are things called finals clubs which are private institutions (think "The Skulls") with really posh houses, but for most people these are on the periphery of social life. Juniors and seniors who are 21 or have id also sometimes go to bars in Harvard Square, but mostly, it's parties at people's rooms. The houses also often have student-run functions in common rooms like weekly keg parties.
