There is certainly an active social scene here, but you should expect no fraternities, parties that end at 1:00 AM, and a student population generally concerned more with grades and careers than with socializing. Housing at Harvard is generally very nice. Almost all housing is done in suites. You will live in a suite with as many as 17 roommates sharing as many as 18 rooms. As you become more senior at the college, you are more likely to get a single bedroom. All bathrooms are shared within the suite and they are cleaned bi-monthly. In terms of the physical campus (facilities, dining halls, etc.) expect the best, or close to it. The Harvard endowment helps you substantially here. Crime is minimal, and Boston is a great city. That about sums it up.
