Harvard is not the college to go to if you are looking to maximize your
fun. There is certainly an active social scene here, but you should
expect no fraternities, parties that end at 1:00 AM, and a student
population generally concerned more with grades and careers than with
socializing.
Housing at Harvard is generally very nice. Almost all housing is done
in suites. You will live in a suite with as many as 17 roommates
sharing as many as 18 rooms. As you become more senior at the college,
you are more likely to get a single bedroom. All bathrooms are shared
within the suite and they are cleaned bi-monthly.
In terms of the physical campus (facilities, dining halls, etc.) expect
the best, or close to it. The Harvard endowment helps you
substantially here.
Crime is minimal, and Boston is a great city. That about sums it up.
