Quality of life I would equate to most other universitys of Gonzaga's size.
Students are
not allowed to live off campus until their Junior year (Unless they live in
Spokane, are over
21, or have a very good reason.) and because of this are forced to have a meal
plan.
While the food in the cafeteria is not bad, it is cafeteria food, and many would
like to have
the money to spend elsewhere. (Close to $2000) However, there are other
eateries on
campus and many different places where one can spend his/her "flex" money which
is
part of the meal plan, including local eateries, pizza establishments, etc. The
only issue
here is that the money is generally spent very quikly.
Dorms rooms are generally bigger than most, although it all depends which dorm
you live
in. Some are coed, and others are single sex, and there are campus apartments
to boot.
Most of the apartments are quite nice and offer quite a bit of flexibility.
(I.e. Being able
to consume alcohol if over 21, not having to subscribe to a meal plan, and not
having to
deal with off campus slumlords.) These are probably the best option for
students,
however, not many will be able to get them until their Sophmore year, or more
likely,
their Junior year. This being said, living in the dorms, at least for one's
freshman year,
offers much more of a social life, which is very important to enjoying your stay
for the
other two to three years.
