Georgia Tech's campus is relatively safe. With only a few incidences of
burglary, I think it is safe to walk around campus by yourself as a girl
at 2:00 AM. Even at that time, there are still other students walking
around campus, coming back from teh library or a friend's dorm or from a
midnight snack off campus. Housing is often sometimes hard to get
into. As a freshman or sophomore it's not that difficult. Even if you
do not get into the on campus housing, there are plenty of near by
apartments that are often closer and cheaper to campus than on campus
housing. The facilities at Georgia Tech are fabulous. Just recently,
Georgia Tech opened it's new work out facilities and it's really
convenient for most students. It's equiped with an olympic sized
swimming pool and weight room, aerobic rooms, cardio room, inside track,
inside basketball courts, ping pong tables, and other various work out
facilities. In addition, Ga Tech also just recently built its new
health center which is also very convenient for the students. Dining at
GA Tech has dramatically improved since my freshman year. I believe the
efficiency of the lines are greater than before and the staff is very
friendly. It's a great way to meet new people as well. The
neighborhood of GA Tech is also very safe. It's on the outskirts of
downtown so you don't run into very crazy people.
