DC is an excellent college town. Georgetown has many bars, restaurants
and shops and most other areas of DC, MD and VA are readily accessible
by bus or cab (no metro stop in Georgetown). There is NO Greek system
save a co-ed service frat, a foreign service frat and a Jewish
affiliated frat. Popular clubs include the International Relations Club
(model UN), Right to Life (pro-life), GU Pride and Campaign Against the
Death Penalty. Performing Arts are making a comeback with the
construction of more performance space the addition of a new major.
Many ethnic clubs are also popular especially the South Asian Society.
Club Sports are just beginning to be recognized by the university and
are increasing in popularity. Lecture Fund brings many interesting
political figures to campus on regular basis. Students own and operate
all convenience stores and coffee shops on campus as well as a credit
union.
